Hi, I’m JoshuaBorn in Durban and here to help local businesses get found.

Introduction

A quick hello from me

You’ll deal with me directly, so here’s a short video to say hello and show you the easiest ways to get in touch.

Who my Durban SEO service is for

It’s for small and medium-sized businesses in and around Durban, at any stage. Some of the people I speak to have just opened their doors and want to start on the right foot. Others have traded for twenty years on word of mouth and are curious about what Google could do for them. Plenty sit somewhere in between, with a website that looks fine but never seems to bring in enquiries.

I want to help businesses grow, whatever their ambitions may be. Some want to keep what they have and simply get a few more enquiries each month. Others want to scale into a much larger national brand. I can help with both.

If you run a small or medium-sized business in Durban or the surrounding areas and want more customers to find you online, we should talk.

Services

How I can help your business get found on Google

I help in three ways, drawing on what I’ve learned over the past decade working for various companies, doing accreditations and courses, furthering my education, and from my own experience having built up a client’s website and my own. I understand what needs to be done, depending on where your website is today. Compare my SEO services in Durban in full.

  1. A new website, built to rankStarting from scratch, or ready to replace a site that isn’t pulling its weight? I’ll set the design direction, build the site and put the full SEO layer in place from day one. You launch with something that looks good to customers and makes sense to Google.
  2. An SEO audit with clear recommendationsSometimes you just need to know what’s wrong. I’ll go through your website and online presence, then hand you a report of what I found and what should happen next. There’s no implementation attached, so you can act on it yourself, pass it to your developer, or bring me in later.

I’ll tell you if SEO isn’t the right move

SEO is a long game. It takes months to build, and once it’s working it keeps bringing in enquiries without you paying for every click. That makes it one of the best investments a local business can make, but only at the right time.

If your budget would work harder in Google Ads for now, or there’s something more pressing to fix first, I’ll say so. Your first conversation with me is free, and part of it is me working out honestly whether I should be taking your money at all.

SEO results for Duguza Pest Control

Duguza Pest Control is a family-run Durban business with more than 30 years in the trade. Their new website went live in mid-July 2026, and within about eleven weeks it was:

  • ranking for 29 search terms on Google in South Africa
  • quoted as a source in Google’s AI Overviews
  • on page one for various search terms

New websites usually take longer than this to gain traction. Getting the structure and content right from launch is what gave Duguza a head start.

About

The SEO consultant you’ll work with

You’ll work with me, Joshua Brouard, and nobody else. I was born in Durban, and after a whole childhood away, I moved back a couple of years ago. It didn’t take long to notice how many good local businesses were close to invisible online, and how much of a difference the right help could make.

My background is in web writing. I started out producing web content for digital agencies, which taught me how much the right words matter to people and search engines alike.

From there I added a postgraduate qualification in marketing and several SEO certifications, and I’ve been working in the industry ever since.

I’ve never been driven mainly by money. Helping people is what gets me up in the morning, and Net Narrator lets me do that for businesses in my home city.

The name comes from that writing background. Every business has a story, and SEO is a big part of how that story gets told online, from the words on your pages to the way you appear on Google.

My job is to narrate it well.

FAQ

SEO questions Durban business owners ask

If your question isn’t here, send me a WhatsApp and I’ll answer it.

How much does SEO cost?

It depends on what your business needs, how competitive your industry is and how long the work runs for, so I don’t publish set packages. A local plumber in Phoenix and a multi-branch business chasing all of Durban need very different amounts of work. Tell me about your business and I’ll give you a clear quote.

How long until I see results?

That depends on where you’re starting. On an existing website, quick fixes can show movement within a few weeks. A brand-new site usually needs a couple of months to start gaining traction. SEO builds over time.

Do I need a new website?

Not necessarily. If your current site is solid, the ongoing SEO service works with what you already have. If it’s holding you back, I can rebuild it with SEO built in. An audit is a good way to find out which camp you’re in.

I already have a web developer. Can you work with them?

Yes. The ongoing SEO service is designed for exactly that. Your developer or in-house team handles the build, and I take care of search.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

Contract terms are something we agree on together, based on the work involved and what makes sense for your business.

Do you have an office I can visit?

Net Narrator runs online, so there’s no office. I’m happy to meet in person, on a video call, over the phone, on WhatsApp or by email at joshua.brouard@netnarrator.co.za, whichever you prefer.

How will I know what you’re doing?

We agree on milestones from the start, and I’ll send progress updates, usually twice a month. If you ever want to know where things stand, just ask.

Can SEO help my business show up in AI search like ChatGPT or Google’s AI Overviews?

Yes. Clear, helpful content on a well-built website is what AI tools look for when they choose sources, so the same work that helps you rank on Google helps here too.
